One star is too good for Central Estates.
About a year ago they showed me a flat which I agreed to rent via them. They verbally agreed to this and we set the wheels in motion: I paid a £500 deposit, gave my notice to my then-current landlord, and waited for them to draw up the contract for me to sign. And waited... And waited... They constantly ignored my phone calls and gave me the brush-off. Finally, a week later, they announced that someone else was going to rent the flat instead. Basically, they had encouraged someone else to gazump me.
Avoid at all costs. They have no idea about the havoc their downright unethical approach can wreak on people's lives.

I used Central Estates to rent a property in Walthamstow, first they didnt know about me letting the property when I came to collect the keys, then didnt take the rent and sent me a threatening letter and then left me without heating.

Easy to deal with, polite staff and most importantly found me a top tenant within 3 days!! I'm in the process of buying my next property, which i shall be renting, and will definately be using this agent again.

I found these guys fantastic, they were polite and extremely professional compared to some of the other jokers that I visited on Hoe Street!!
They were the only agents to stay late for viewings and really cared about finding me a new house.
I would recommend Central to anyone looking for a home in Walthamstow and can't believe this other review to be true.

Dishonest, regulally guzump buyers, they are a bunch of young so call city slickers who are only intrested in getting a quick buck. I have told people to stay away from them.

We do not 'guzump' buyers and will take a property off of the market once an offer has been made unless told not to by our vendor. If this is the case the buyer is always made aware.
We have a team of highly experienced negotiators all with between 5-15 years estate agency experience behind them and run a very professional and successful estate agency.
Could this be another estate agent writing this review??

Director, those reviews must either be written by your self or members of your staff. I lost alot of money several times with your socal agency with guzumping ,and you have a very bad reputation in the area. BE WARNED PUBLIC, STAY AWAY FROM CENTRAL ESTATES GUZUMPING LIARS.

I agree with the poster - Central Estate agent is a serial gazumper. The lettings section did it to me. And yep .. they give off a city slicker air, but I reckon most of them still live with their mums. It's the only explanation for their complete and utter disregard for the very real and serious problems that their actions can cause. It's the roof over people's heads that you are messing with, Central Estates, so grow up and start doing business in a more ethnical manner.
