I really can not thank Richard and his team at central enough for there dilligence and complete dedication to the quest of selling my flat .
They have always been totally professional in trying to find a buyer for my flat , and at last culminating in the sale of my property , I must thank Dean in liasing with me on the completion of the sale , if it wern't for his perseverance I do not think the sale would have gone through , if you are looking for a totally dedicated team to sell your property I would highly recommend Central of Walthamstow .Was this review helpful? We had an excellent experience with Central Estate Agents. We have sold our property through them. I had 3 valuations and Central was the highest and they were spot on, they got us the price they said they would within 3-4 days and we sold at full asking price. They were corporative, responded promptly to all our queries and advised in the best possible way along the process. I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

I've read through the comments below and felt obliged to write my own. I have bought and sold various houses/flats over the last 11 years and used a number of Hoe Street Agents. I HAVE always sold using Central - after being left on with other agents in the street for months. They are Estate Agents at the end of the day and yes, sometimes their tactics are a little left of centre, but did I care .. really ... no, they sold our houses/flats at the end of the day. If you let them get on with their job and stop badgering them it will be sold - enough said. Thanks Rich, James, Neil, Jas and previous guys, Charlie, James Jnr for making us money to enable us to now live in a stunning place!

I wouldn't recommend using them at all.
I put an offer in and was told I had secured the property and it had been taken off the market, over a week later I was called to say someone else had 'just' equalled my offer so I needed to up mine.
I eventually found out from the vendor directly that my offer had not been accepted at all as this other offer had actually been received on the same day as mine but was for cash so he was advised to go with them.The long and short of it meant that I very fortunately got my lovely flat due to a great vendor with whom I had direct contact and not at all to do with Central. (I feel for the other potential buyer too as they were obviously mucked around too)
They're v friendly and seem like nice guys, just no good at their job... shame really.

They were by far the most professional and true to their word. The communication and service was efficient and clear. I have no hesitation in recommending their sales team to any future vendors. There are some very poor agents in the area who are quite reckless and cavalier, but I cannot say that central estates were one of them. I suspect that the recent poor reviews they have received are from jealous lazy competition who think that such underhanded behaviour as part of their job description. If central estates read this, I'd like to say thank you for your hard work! They shouldn't worry too much about their competitors as the cream rises to the top...

Wouldn't hesitate to use Central again. Bought my first flat with them in 1998 (transaction was very smooth - thanks Richard M) and sold another with them in March 2012 (again very smooth transaction - thanks Richard M and Jas). Basically left them to get on with it and they did just that. They gave me the highest valuation and I accepted an offer only a few grand off the asking price (within 6 days!!!) Recommended my neighbour to them as well. My thanks to Richard, Jas and everyone else I dealt with at Central, you made the whole home buying/selling process a lot less daunting. Well done.

I have had the great misfortune to have dealt with this agency more than once. I first bought a property in 1997 and found them to live up to every cliche that exists about estate agents. I then bought another property in 2005 and allowed Central to deal with the sale of my original property - they were rubbish! When I said I was going to another agent (as I was in danger of losing the property I was trying to buy) they miraculously found a buyer the next day! There were endless other probelms (inefficient; inaccurate; don't return calls etc. etc). I would never recommend this company to anybody and I sincerely hope I never have to deal with them again.

I had three valuations on my property and although Central was the highest, I decided to give it a go (another agent recommended a price under 30k of the price they advised). Central were right, within three days of my property being on the market I had an offer just a few grand short of the asking price, which I accepted. The sale went through extremely quickly and smoothly and the staff were efficient, available, friendly and useful. No complaints from me.

I received a request from Central Estates to write a review of their services, so here goes. They were rubbish. Viewings were set up for me for properties that didn't match the criteria I gave them. There was nobody in at one of the viewings I went to, and on another I had been booked twice on the same day in error, and the vendor had been waiting all day for me to visit.
I was advised to use a particular firm of local solicitors on an agent's strong recommendation, presumably for a commission. I thought the solicitors were rubbish also. The person I dealt with was illiterate and also ... (read more)

We bought our new house with Central Estate Agents in Walthamstow during the summer and they were excellent. Having joined about 12 or 13 estate agents to try and find our dream home, Central were the only ones that consistently stayed in touch, offering properties that were within our price range (rather than over our limit like so many other agents) and within the area & specifications we desired. Once we had placed an offer they were very helpful and gave us good advice as we were first-time buyers with no concept of the house buying process. They were never too busy to take my countless calls and if I left a message or sent an email, they were quick to return it. An all-round excellent experience.

We used Central to sell our house because they seemed to understand who would want to buy it - and they were right.
They marketed to the right audience, got us plenty of viewings, some serious interest and a proper offer within a week.The progression team were good at keeping things moving and overall we were pleased with their performance.
Would recommend.

hhhhhhmmmmm I like how all these 5* reviews have appeared on the same date, making it clear they are fakes. Seriously, you people have so little common sense.
Most of the population can see through these fake posts and see the pure anger and fustration that the real clients are experiencing.
Never once have I been guided "step-by-step" through and I'm still waiting for my calls to be returned.
It makes me livid to the point of tears that these agents have no regard for their clients and the money that is being wasted because of their incompetance and lack of respect.
I warn all propspective tenants away from using Central.

I went to Central on a recommednation from a friend who had just purchased through them. As a single girl and a first time buyer I was extremely intimidated by the whole process but Central took me through it step by step and put my mind at ease through every stage. I have since gone on to rent the same property through Central and buy another property through them and cannot rate them more highly. The staff are all extremely professional, helpful and attentive and have gone above and beyond the call of duty to help even taking phone calls out of office hours as its been hard for me to take calls at work.

Having just read some other reviews I feel compelled to make my own comments. The people who are making such vile, unfounded and ridiculous complaints surely must be mistaking Central with another agency. I have bought, sold and rented with the team over the years and have nothing but high praise for Richard (Maher) and the other guys. When on one occassion I was unsure about some of the information another agent relayed to me, Richard immediately called me back and clarified the situation giving assurance that there was indeed no problem. He was quite right. Every time I have left a meassage an agent has returned my call. Everytime I have popped into the agents I have been warmly welcomed and treated with respect. If this was not the case I would not be using them for a FOURTH time , which I am!

During my extensive property search in walthamstow, Central were professional, curteous and one of the only agents that didn't waste time taking me to properties that were completely unsuitable.
They arranged viewings to suit me which were sometimes very late in the evening as I worked in North London.They handled everything very well and the purchase, exchange and completion were very smooth.
I would not hesitate to recommend them and if I were to sell the property I bought through them, would most definately use them as sole agents.
All the staff are hard working and committed and had an excellent local knowledge.I dealt with many estate agents in the area and Central were the best by far.Was this review helpful? Yes

We first met the guys at central in 1999. We bought a flat through them. We were really pleased with the service. Professional, precise and quick. In 2007 and 2011 we used them again to sell other properties as we knew they were an agent we could trust. We have found them to be professional and knowledgable on the lettings side too, helping us with sound advice and recommendations to help us as new landlords. I am surprised to read such negative reviews as central have always been a great resource to us. They offer an energy and motivation to property sales that we have not seen from other agents in walthamstow, both through our experience and that of our friends. We have lived in the 'stow for a long time and have always and will always use and recommend central estates.

I recently sold my property with central - despite having to overcome issues with my loft conversion not having building regs, they managed to find numerous viewers and attained 3 offers in total on my house... I found them to be curteous, professional, hard working and most definately earned 150% of the commission finally (ahppily) paid them.
Richard in particular made sure my house was sold.

Central Estates were extremely helpful during my search for my first property. All the properties they introduced me to met my needs exactly, and at no time did I feel that they were showing me properties "just for the sake of it". Indeed, Rich (the agent I dealt with most) was so honest about the unsuitability of one property that I enquired about, that I was completely taken aback.
Extremely happy with all aspects of the service I received from Central, and they would be my first call for any future requirements.

Just wanted to comment on excellent service I have received from Richard at Central Estate agents as a prospective customer. Richard through his expertise and understanding of customer needs has helped me review my property needs which will save me 50k when I eventually purchase. He also provided me with invaluable advice on how and who to sell my property with - calling the agents himself to articulate my needs. Since making the recommended changes I have just received a full asking price offer on my property after it being on the market for 6 months. So thanks richard and I really hope to purchase my next propery through central. I am a hard customer to please and central have definitely exceeded my expectations

We recently bought our flat thruogh Central and can honestly say they were no where near as awful as the comments here suggest.
James Bostock, who was the agent for the property, was friendly, helpful and accommodating, showing us around several properties including some new ones on the market he thought would suit us. Not once did he try to bully us or persuade us on a place we didn't like. He took our requirements and preferences into account and used them to narrow down our search.
Once we put an offer in on the property the dealings with the agency continued to be fine. There were one or two occasions where telephone calls were not replied to, but we just rang again. These guys are busy so give them a bit of leeway!
The only point where I was not impressed was when we made an appointment to view the property and the agent (not James) hadn't logged it properly and therefore didn't turn up, but after a phone call he came within an hour.Overall it was a good experience, and I would use them again.

Central were proffessional in every way. There are a number of agents in Walthamstow so it can be a bit of a mine field but I couldn't recommend these guys more. I dealt with Richard and his team, all of whom were friendly, grounded and kept me updated daily on developments. Several agents took pictures of my property, none of them anywehere near as good as Central's and within a day I already had several viewings lined up. World class customer service, I highly recommend them.

My expectations of estate agents in general are pretty low, but Central have managed to scrape the very bottom of the barrel in terms of their behaviour and general dishonesty. When we were looking to buy recently, they were the only agency in E17 we refused to deal with altogether, regardless of the property they had on the market.

I’m surprised this place is still open. Totally rude and unprofessional in every way.
Where do I start. I had a viewing booked and it was cancelled, 5 minutes before I was supposed to have been there... I even foolishly put an offer on one of the properties they had for sale, which was supposedly accepted. I asked to view the property for a second time so I could get some measurements, but I was told ( in an aggressive manner ) that they had better things to do and that nobody cared whether I looked at the place for a second time again or not. I found out from my solicitor that the flat had been offered to somebody else. Luckily for me my solicitor didn’t charge me for any admin fees as they couldn’t believe that an estate agent would behave in such a way. I’ve looked at what people have wrote below and they obviously seem to treat everybody the same way. I’m glad the flat fell through.
If you every happen to be on Hoe street or see their cheap, crappy designed logo on Rightmove, then stay well away from this modern day Fagin outfit.Was this review helpful? Yes

Please save yourself the stress, waste of time and money by choosing another agent.

I used Central as a landlord and what can I say, do NOT use these guys. Where do I start...tenants complained that it took 1,2 weeks for Central to get back to them over urgent repairs that needed doing, as a landlord they never get back to you. You find money deducted from your rent without even being informed as to why, they carry out repairs and don't tell you what is going on. The repair work is shabby to say the least - to fix a pipe their contractors lodged a rock to hold it in place and you get £90 deducted for that! I registered to rent my house through Central in Walthamstow. At first I was impressed but after the initial meeting the staff were unprofesional, pushy, unpresponsiver and rude. After receiving numerous bad reviews I can only assume the recent batch od glowing reviews have been posted by Central staff, this does not fit thier reputation in the area - Central Cowboys.

I would not advise any landlord to use them. They do not reply to telephone calls. They do not respond to tenants problems. Frankly their service is very poor and they tell lies and take the side of tradespeople without consulting with landlords. I will certainly not use them again after hearing the dissatisfaction of tenants problems not beibg dealt with either. You pay for a management service for nothing.

A survey of the property I bought revealed damp and a guy at Central recommended PLF Preservations to deal with the problem, who I thought were a complet and utter rip-off. They broke the skirting boards they removed and did not consider it their job to replace the radiator or skirting boards, nor consider it professional to mention the damage to the skirting boards
Where they were efficient, however, was in collecting their money, and the proprietor travelled a fair distance to my house specifically to collect his cheque inperson, with instructions to leave it under the doormat if I went out. I wish they had showed the same attention to detail in their work on the house!Curiously enough, the guy he suggested might be able to help replace the skirting boards never got in contact. Funny, that. I guess the agent who recommended them got a few bob in commisssion, but at the expense of being associated with cowboys and creating ill-will with someone who in future might want to sell his house.
Bad business sense, that.
On the day of the exchange I was told I could collect the keys at midday. I was kept waiting several hours. According to my solicitor, someone in the office simply forgot about the keys when they came in, hence the long wait. At about
4.30 a guy called Jas made, I have to say, a very professional and courteous phone call to apologise about this error in communication and told me to come and collect the keys. About 5 minutes later a guy called Richard rang to say the keys had just that moment arrived. I mentioned this to my solicitor, who called Richard a 'little fibber'.
Trying to think of good points. I aborted my first proposed sale, and despite losing his commission on it, a guy called Jas was nevertheless very courteous and professional about it when he showed me another property.
My main gripe about Central is that they recommended PLF Preservation who in my opinion gave a truly horrible service.
I would say Central were no worse that any other estate agent I've used: as a landlord and property buyer I've never met one I trusted.,and never got good service.
ps Very worst estate agent ever is Peter of Hayden estates, Brockley. Most of the population can see through these fake posts and see the pure anger and fustration that the real clients are experiencing.
Never once have I been guided "step-by-step" through and I'm still waiting for my calls to be returned.
It makes me livid to the point of tears that these agents have no regard for their clients and the money that is being wasted because of their incompetance and lack of respect.

 and the other guys. When on one occassion I was unsure about some of the information another agent relayed to me, Richard immediately called me back and clarified the situation giving assurance that there was indeed no problem. He was quite right. Every time I have left a meassage an agent has returned my call. Everytime I have popped into the agents I have been warmly welcomed and treated with respect. Richard in particular made sure my house was sold.

All the properties they introduced me to met my needs exactly, and at no time did I feel that they were showing me properties "just for the sake of it". Indeed, Rich (the agent I dealt with most) was so honest about the unsuitability of one property that I enquired about, that I was completely taken aback.

, the owners had just made Central co-sellers of the property. Central, realising that they were going to lose out on the sale to King's, did everything in their power to try and scupper the sale. This included putting a Central 'Sold' sign outside the property while ripping out the King's 'Sold' sign and chucking it away in the owner's front yard (after our offer had been accepted). When we investigated, Central claimed they had sold the house to one of their clients! We told the seller of the house who rang Central to ask them what the hell was going on, especially as he'd already told them to take it off the market. They then claimed that they had had an 'offer', and considered it acceptable and that they had sold the house - as if the seller himself didn't have any say in the matter. The supposed 'mystery buyer' was someone who hadn't even turned up for his scheduled second viewing previously. According to the seller's account, he was so enraged with Central's behaviour, that they ended up handing up on him.

 that they had better things to do and that nobody cared whether I looked at the place for a second time again or not. I found out from my solicitor that the flat had been offered to somebody else. Luckily for me my solicitor didn’t charge me for any admin fees as they couldn’t believe that an estate agent would behave in such a way. I’ve looked at what people have wrote below and they obviously seem to treat everybody the same way. I’m glad the flat fell through.

Where do I start...tenants complained that it took 1,2 weeks for Central to get back to them over urgent repairs that needed doing, as a landlord they never get back to you. You find money deducted from your rent without even being informed as to why, they carry out repairs and don't tell you what is going on. The repair work is shabby to say the least - to fix a pipe their contractors lodged a rock to hold it in place and you get £90 deducted for that! As I stopped using them I found they hadn't even taken an inventory!
They valued my property also at £150 a month less than what I should be letting it for, another agent got me that immediately. I was even asked if I had "friends living there" as the rent was undervalued.
Just walk into the place, you can feel the cowboy attitude immediately! There are many other agents such as Haart, Ludlow and Spencer who will do a far better job than these guys.
