I used Cedar Estates Letting to find my flat. I dealt with Jonathon Kushner who was excellent. Fast, efficient service without the falseness and superficiality that you get from so many estate agents. Ben was very helpful all throughout our contract, from day one , when we contacted him through the internet. As the family of an internaitonal student based in London, we thank him for the help and support he gave us throughout the lease. It is not easy to renta a flat in London coming from abroad, but we were helped and instructed to the last detail.
In fact, all of Cedar Estates personnel was helpful and courteous.
If we ever are in need for London accomomdations, we wont hesitate to contact Ben/Cedar Estates once again.Tnak-you!

As requested, Jordan showed me around a number of properties to give me an idea of the options in West Hampstead and the surrounding area. He was very professional and knowledgable of property and the local area. I was impressed with the standard of properties on offer from Cedar Estates.
The only point that I wasn't happy with was the degree of competitive tension exerted and the lack of updates provided while waiting to see whether my offer had been accepted. However, it is a landlord's market and this is commonplace.

With help from Jordan Collins from Cedar Estates we were able to rent a property in an excellent location. Jordan’s professionalism made the whole process quick and easy. I had no problems with contacting him and he dealt with my enquiries promptly and efficiently. Highly recommended.

So far the service provided by Viktoria has bee very good. Any queries and problems connected to our flat has been dealt with efficiently and promptly in a courteous manner. We have been happy with the service up to now, and hopefully it will continue.

My entire experience with Cedar Estates from the moment I signed a tenancy agreement until the day I completed my dealings with them has been a nightmare. I strongly urge any potential tenants to think twice before dealing with them.
From the outset I was promised a furnished flat. The over-enthusiastic agent on showing me the property told me the flat came with most of the furniture and appliances included. Yet when I moved in, the items he promised were nowhere to be found and I was belittlingly informed by the manager of the West End Lane office that I must have been mistaken and... (read more)

We worked with Jonathan Kushner to sell our flat in West Hampstead NW6. We had a failed buyer in Oct 2011 but just closed another buyer this month. He worked hard and diligently from start to finish, was present at the viewings and was very good at following up with potential buyers. Once we had found he buyer he continued to provide support right through till exchange. He put us in a good position with two potential buyers right till the end, he also responds very fast to email which is a big plus for me. Happy to use again and recommend to my friends.

Vicky is a fantastic property manager. When I moved into the flat on the Monday, we didn't have the key for the bottom lock, there were a number of loose fittings and little did I know the oven was completely broken! Obviously I was thinking 'oh no, we've been ripped off and I'm going to be eating salad for weeks' but I got in touch with Vicky and the very NEXT DAY the odd jobs had been fixed and the oven had been assessed. Our washing machine started leaking on a Sunday. We rang Cedar Estates, who were incredibly helpful in running us through all the right checks, and specifically made sure that we still had hot water to our flat (the first time a lettings agent has ever gone out of their way to ask).
They then got a plumber out to look at it the next day (the first time a lettings agent has ever sent someone out for a non-urgent fault the next day).
When they told us the washing machine needed replacing, we expected that we'd be without a washing machine for the foreseeable future. Nope: they promised it to us within a week, and they ended up getting it installed 3 days later. That's a grand total of 4 days from our first issue to a brand new washing machine.
In nearly ten years renting, I've never seen service this good.

I first moved into the studio in 2005 and left last weekend. The only reason I moved out was I finally bought a property! During this period everyone at Cedar have been wonderful and very helpful especially Viktoria and Anne. They have been professional at all times and I would highly recommend them.
Reading some of the comments below, this is london and unfortunately rents do increase!. I recently helped a friend move and got a chance to view around 30 studios with her and got a good idea of rental costs - Cedars properties are fairly priced in my opinion.Was this review helpful? Yes

The tenants for Cedar's agents are just big wallets. It's certain that they'll trick you to get as much money as they can. Don't ever agree to six-month contracts even if the initial rent seems good. A huge raise is waiting for you if you want to renew! Fine prints and hidden charges are standard and their specialty is to "relieve" you from your deposit. AVOID at all costs!

Extremely rude staff. They make it clear that they have no time for tenants at all - i felt almost apologetic every time I had to contact them for anything.
The person who did the inventory for me as I moved in warned me about them, told me to ensure all contact with Cedar is by email so i have a record of it. I did this, and thank god i did! When i left they tried to screw me out of all sorts of costs, blaming me for all sorts of damage; luckily i had saved all the emails I had ever exchanged with them, so I could prove that not one item of damage was due to me, and in fact that I had alerted them to the damage but they never bothered fixing it.
I managed to disprove every point they had against me thanks to that. What this shows is that they knowingly try to rip you off!

I was looking for a flat to rent in London. I have been to many estate agency, until Cedar Estates offered me the perfect place, exactly the kind i was looking for.
Amir Shafi was a great help in the procedure and he assisted me very well, even though my case was not very simple with me being a foreigner and a first time renter in London.
Also it was a great help that he managed my tenancy agreement while i was abroad. Therefor i didnt have to stay in London during the whole procedure, which would have made things way more difficult, if not impossible.

TENANTS AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! MASSIVELY RIPPED OFF BY THESE JOKERS! Heres why you shouldn't go with them: - Large fees to move in - Large fees to move out (hidden in the small print on the contract) - They rip you off with the bond (took 100 for replacing light bulbs for example! 500 in total) - Tricked me into taking place for 6 months at a cheap price, then raised it 20%!!! market wasn't moving at all. Had to move out again paying all the in and out fees. Costly and what a hassle!

Out of five different agencies i've rented these are the most expensive. Watch out for the £174 moving in inventory fee and if you lock yourself out, out of every agency i know these are the first to charge a massive £54 for someone to open the door for you, this is the most unreasonable fee i've know, yes my fault to lock myself out - but an estate agent should not take advantage of this to make money. I will never use this agency again and i hope someone reads this and saves themselves alot of money too.
The moving in process was the hardest i've had too. Always previous estate agents have been flexible, Cedar estates made me need to take a half day from work to go to the office to sign paperwork that could have easily been signed on moving in day, but they said an agent could not come to the property - and on moving in day, the deposit form had not been signed - so - they were able to send an estate agent to the property after all.
I would like to put something good they did but honestly, the move in process was all in their favour in hindsight.Was this review helpful? Yes

As a lanlord and vendor, I have been using Cedar Estates for over 15 years, during which time they have always been successful in achieving, or virtually, the rental quoted and the sale figure.
I have found the personnel (in their increasing numbers!) couteous/smiling/efficient and especially the management side for the day to day issues most helpful, even though not always within their remit.

I have had nothing but a smooth transation from Cedar Estates so far. Amir was extremley helpful and professional when viewing the flat and even answered any questions I had on his day off! He was also on hand to deal with or pass on my contract queries to the relevant people in his team. Despite a few initial problems when I moved into the flat, Cedar Estates were fantastic and extremley efficient with sorting out what I asked for with the quick replacement of specific amenities. Viktoria responded to all my calls and emails and everything was fixed when she said it would be.
I have since had courtesy follow up emails from Amir to check that I am happy with the flat. I hope that the good service throughout my tenancy with Cedar Estates continues.Was this review helpful? Yes

This is the first time i have used Cedar Estates and i was very impressed right from the beginning. I have dealt in property for many years and used many agents but i found Cedar Estates to be the most professional and knowledgeable out of them all. Every time i called them i was answered straight away and never left on hold as i found from previous agents. The persons i spoke to were courteous and had an indepth knowledge about the business. I new that if i needed information or needed help then Cedar Eastes would be there to assist. A five star service which treats their clients with the upmost respect. Highly recommend them.

We read some of the reviews on some of the websites about Cedar Estates before we used them, and bearing in mind some of the 1 star reviews we were a bit nervous. Luckily we haven't had a single issue with them. All the members of staff we've dealt with have been extremely helpful. Greg is a friendly and knowledgeable agent and Anne was excellent about answering questions and adjusting the date of our rental payments. Everyone we've met have tried and succeeded in helping us make the move from the Westcountry to London very easy.
I don't know if some of the poor reviews are real or not, but we'd recommend using Cedar and would definitely use them again.

I had the most positive experience with the Cedar Estates when finding a new property for rent. I especially would like to commend the hard work of Gregory Patalacci who really listen to what I was looking for in the flat and has helped to process the paperwork quickly and efficiently. Rude inhumane staff. Would never use again and would never recommend. Not only was there mice infestation which they didn't inform me and husband of when I was heavily pregnant and potential health hazard. Which they knew before rental as they had contract with pest control who never turned up for 5months. However, avoid company at all costs as they give keys to anyone. Handy man let himself in to do minor repairs whilst we were sleeping in our bed with a 9day old baby. Was never told when people would come and if told they never turned up on day or time arranged. Happened on more than one occasion with no regrets on their behalf. Also hidden fees and sly cunning ways of charging extra and sometimes would ignore numerous calls and emails or arrange pest control to come on days suitable for them and not for tenant even they knew we had very young baby. AVOID AT ALL COSTS THIS AGENCY.

Its pretty obvious that the Cedar Estates staff are writing the positive reviews themselves here !
I mean how can everyone have bad service then suddenly like 4 people have 5/5 ratingsBad experience all round - rude staff and hidden costs !
They will try squeeze as much out of you as they can - will be your best friend until the contract is signed - then you screwed !There are LOTS of agents who are much nicer and have just as good if not better properties !

I was living in the USA about to move to London. Through email and phone calls, I was able to secure a flat in London in time for my move date which was only in a couple of week's time. Jonathan Kushner was very professional and replied to my queries in a prompt fashion. He arranged viewings with my friend and was very helpful during the process. Very rude staff with no customer service skills. Hang up on you during calls. Will lie and say anything to get your money and when they do they treat you like crap afterwards. Handyman comes in when pleased with no prior notice and they arrange appointments with third party companies to attend property on times and days suitable for them not you. Eventhough you're one living there. Would highly recommend avoiding them at all costs!

I recently used Cedar Estates, and dealt with their employee Alex. I was very pleased with the level of service received, with the help of Alex we managed to negotiate good terms for the tenancy agreement, Alex was very helpful throughout and always responded promptly. Furthermore once the tenancy started as there usually is, there were a couple of snagging issues that were resolved very quickly without me needing to chase! I would definitely recommend Alex.

Would highly recommend cedar estate’s as their efforts only became more determined in an increasingly harder market. There agents worked round the clock with a very high standard management team. There in house maintenance team run by victoria where very professional and friendly whatever the hour. I would defiantly recommended using cedars estate’s for their highly professional manor, reliability and quality choice of tenants

When looking for a flat in West Hampstead to rent i went to all the local agents, but Cedar Estates were by far the best. I was told about flats as soon as they came on the market, and was given same day viewings. They even stayed late for me one night when i got stuck at the office. We ended up taking a flat in another area that Cedar's didn't offer, but i was so impressed with their service, and would highly recommend them. Claudia

Don't use them!!!! We actually had to take them to court and won the case against them for mis selling their properties. They even had a legal team representing them. They lie, give extremely poor service, are aggressive and bullies. Keep an eye out for their inventory as ours kept leavingh vital information out, so as to try to charge us on checkout. I had to check ours three times. Even the maaging dir ector tried to blame us for their mistake. In the end justice was served.

The people working in the West Hampstead branch are generally rude and frustrating to talk to. When asked a simple question, the answer is invariably \'i don\'t know\'. They have quite high fees and are very slow when it comes to fixing something (changing a broken lock, for example). But the worst part was that we had rats in the building. We reported the problem and it took them 1 and 1/2 months to sort it out. I do not believe they did not know of this before renting us the apartment as they did not seem at all surprised when we told them. It\'s been more than 4 months and they still have not covered the holes the rats made inside the kitchen/living room. The cherry on top of this wonderful experience was that the rats chewed the phone line so we had to call a BT engineer to install a new line which of course we had to pay for ourselves as \'the landlord\' could not be bothered with such nonsense. In total, we spent 2 months without broadband and afraid to go into our kitchen/living room. Never again!!!

One years experience of Cedar Estates was more than enough. Never using them again. A bunch of rude, incompetent, unhelpful, lazy people. The type of agents that give estate agents a bad name.
They do everything on the cheap, but charge you extortionate rates. They lied to us about what the previous tenants paid in rent, and whacked it up. We were asked to show future prospective tenants on a Sunday as the agent didn't want to work that day! A bunch of awful, horrible, rude, unprofessional people. 1 year experience with Cedar Estate, and the staff are a mix of friendly/rude. The woman handling contracts/admin is definitely an incompetent bubble-head. Hidden fees, and over-priced. Tenants & Landlords beware.

So rude, and so expensive, but what is so much worse is that they do not even do their job properly! They are ill informed and badly organised. Their sole objective is to squeeze money out of you. You will get no reasonable information or help out of these people. I wish that we had not signed with them.
I urge anyone, not to use them. Landlords and tenants alike. They are not even working well for our landlord. If we hadn't conversed directly with him over their ridiculous rent increase, we would have moved out and he would have lost more money than he would have gained! They are working for no one other than themselves!
Just DON'T!PS I agree with everything stated in all the other negative reviews (the positive ones must be written by staff).

I was very pleased with the level of service,the flat and the management side. I am very happy the fact that I got exactly what I paid for. Very high level of service. I think not everyone is AWARE of the market which is why they think they are being bumped or ripped off!

Dealings with a few individuals in the branch have been appalling, but they get the extra star for a couple of others who are generally pretty good.
Expensive though, and charge for lots of extras. And poor service and extremely rude emails (a non sentence all in capitals isn't very professional).
Would recommend avoiding at all costs. Other agents have similar properties and will probably cost you less.

Horrible! Horrible! Horrible!
The experiences I've had with them - I wouldn't wish them on anyone on humanitarian grounds. Please do not use them under any circumstances, whatever your level of desperation.
You're better off sleeping rough or at a cheap b&b or even camping at Kings' X stn.
Avoid them at all costs.

Unprofessional. Charges money, does nothing. Cant give you any clear infomations. Highest administrative fee I have seen (checked more than 50 agencies). Rude and unhelpful people.
Made a mistake signing a contract, but needed the place quickly.Will never be back and seriosuly discourage anyone from ever having anything to do with Cedar. You will receive no help and no infrmation. Or worse, information that is not true and then you will be dissappointed - like me.

In general, difficult to deal with. Mean people. I was regreting about signing a contract with them before I did it. I just loved the flat and I had no time to find another one, otherwise I'd not do business with these people.
Just hope not to have any problem with the flat as I'm pretty sure they'll be no help.About the pricing:
Highest fees I've ever seen in London, specially considering that they have done nothing to make things easy.About the staff:

Very impolite & mean when you leave them. Even if you were the perfect tenant with not even 1 hour late of payment, they will come up with all types of excuses to take more than half your deposit.
Imagine that even the inventory company told me secretly: "these people are rubbish" what more evidence would you want???

, and they had their maintenance department come and drill holes in the cupboards.
One of the agents also promised she would find out about reimbursing me for my clothes or their cleaning. However, I never heard back from her on this matter.
Needless to say even though from then on I had the extractor fan on permanently, the flat was still damp and my clothes wet.
Once my 8 month lease was up and I moved out (I would not have dared terminate my contract any earlier given the great expense I would likely have incurred), I hired a professional cleaning service to clean the flat. Unsurprisingly, however, when it came time for my deposit to be returned, Cedar Estates had taken money off for cleaning citing that the flat was not fully cleaned. Fair enough, I contacted the cleaning service about this. Although, I get the feeling that Cedar Estates is likely to have taken money off of the deposit in any eventuality given the appalling service I received from them during my tenancy. I expected nothing less.
Please please everyone, I know it\'s an agents\' market in London right now, but if you can help it, save yourselves the hassle, heartache, and expense of renting a property from Cedar Estates.  we had a brand new oven and a set of keys for the bottom lock. Vicky always responds to emails almost immediately, she is efficient, fair and professional. It's a great help to have such peace of mind over issues like this.

Additionally, Gregory at Cedar Estates was fantastic at showing me around flats and getting things done, Anne was great with the contract, dealing with our queries right away. The only downside for us was the man who did the inventory who showed up late without the keys to the flat or the meter cupboard. Let's just say my lunch hour was stretched. They then got a plumber out to look at it the next day (the first time a lettings agent has ever sent someone out for a non-urgent fault the next day).
When they told us the washing machine needed replacing, we expected that we'd be without a washing machine for the foreseeable future. Nope: they promised it to us within a week, and they ended up getting it installed 3 days later. That's a grand total of 4 days from our first issue to a brand new washing machine.

 - They rip you off with the bond (took 100 for replacing light bulbs for example! 500 in total) - Tricked me into taking place for 6 months at a cheap price, then raised it 20%!!! market wasn't moving at all. . But the worst part was that we had rats in the building. We reported the problem and it took them 1 and 1/2 months to sort it out. I do not believe they did not know of this before renting us the apartment as they did not seem at all surprised when we told them. It\\\'s been more than 4 months and they still have not covered the holes the rats made inside the kitchen/living room. The cherry on top of this wonderful experience was that the rats chewed the phone line so we had to call a BT engineer to install a new line which of course we had to pay for ourselves as \\\'the landlord\\\' could not be bothered with such nonsense. In total, we spent 2 months without broadband and afraid to go into our kitchen/living room.
