Founded in Clifton by Charles Joseph Hole in 1867, CJ Hole’s main business was rent collection, which in the Victorian era was much more common than buying. As the years rolled by the company was passed down to his sons, so the focus of the business changed towards the selling of property as well.

   My housemate and I were looking for a rented property within a certain area of Bristol. CJ Hole were extremely helpful and managed to find a property which met all of our criteria such as driveway, two double bed rooms and suitable for a cat! They were also very helpful in emailing us a file of photos of the inventory to show the standard of the house when we moved in.

   We are very happy with our new home and will definitely be using CJ Hole in the future!

   I found the manager at CJ Hole behaved respectfully even when she realised I was shopping around with other agents. She found better tenants than the other agents and allowed me to choose which tenant I preferred. Since the tenants have moved in every query has been resolved quickly & satisfactorily even though I live overseas.

Having just had a tenant leave my property early, Kat and her team wasted no time in finding me a new one. As I live in London it's great to have peace of mind knowing that my property is being professionally taken care of. Whether I've been dealing with Kat, Philippa or Sharon on the lettings side of things, or Chad with any maintenance issues, or even Emily and Isabella, (basically the whole team!!),someone has always been available to give me advice and sort any issues.    C.J.Hole provide a very professional Property Management Service, and can be relied upon to ensure the Tenant and Landlord are kept clearly informed regarding any issues.

   C.J.Hole ensure that a detailed inventory is taken when a new Tenant rents a property, and regularly inspect the Property to ensure the Tenant is looking after it well. Any issues are informed to the Lanlord.

   On ending the Tenancy C.J. Hole ensure that any issues are dealt with satisfactorily.

   I have no hesitation in recommending the firm, which is progressive and uses up to date technology to provide a Professional Service.

   We cannot recommend CJ Hole Bradley Stoke enough.
   We viewed a property with Claire on a Friday afternoon and had put a holding fee down immediately.
   Holly managed to contact the Landlord that evening and we found out a couple of hours after viewing the property that we were the new tenants.
   They were absolutely brilliant throughout the whole process & constantly kept us up to date.
   They're just all very down to earth and can't do enough for you!

   Both Sam and Philippa provided an excellent service while we were looking for a flat. Philippa was very proactive in looking for flats that matched our requirements and informed us when new flats became available. We viewed flats with Philippa, during which she offered a very friendly approach and had good local knowledge of the areas. The flat we eventually rented was suggested by Philippa and our viewing accompanied by Sam. Sam was also very friendly and helpful, and provided local knowledge of the area. Sam took care of most of the paperwork for us, sending contracts and helping with questions we had.

   Philippa has since been in contact to make sure everything is OK with the flat.

    Since then I have moved into the property.

    During the early hours of Sunday morning (one of the coldest of the year-24/3/13) the fuses in the rented property tripped. On exploration the fault was in the boiler and I call CJ Hole to report this. On getting through to someone in the office, they made me aware that they had been in touch with their maintenance contractors and someone would soon be in touch.

Dear Jane, We are sorry to learn that you feel your maintenance issue was not dealt with satisfactorily by the team. To date we have never received a complaint from a Tenant or a Landlord about the way an ‘out of hours’ maintenance issue has been dealt with. We at CJ Hole pride ourselves on the level of service we offer both our Landlords & Tenants so the issues you’ve raised have come as a shock to us. We (the office staff) share the 24hr call out phone 365 days a year so we can respond personally to calls from our tenants as we know each property so it is unfortunate that you called the office number to report the issues you were having (but out of office hours) rather than the ‘out of hours’ number issued to all our managed Tenants. We will respond to your points in full directly to work out how these unfortunate events occurred and to make sure they do not occur again.

    This is a very professional team, right from their initial suggestions as to how to make our flat more marketable, down to liaising with solicitors throughout the conveyancing process. They were always available to sort out the minor issues which arose to take out much of the stress.     We found the branch of C J Hole in Henleaze, Bristol extremely helpful when we were buying a property in order to move to Bristol. They were extremely professional but also friendly and approachable. Nick who initially showed us around the property which we later bought did not hurry us in any way but allowed us to take our time, and George handled some tricky negotiations during the course of the sale (just before exchange of contracts there was a big hitch with our buyer) with diplomacy and tact and was a very calming influence throughout. After we moved in, C J Hole even gave us a moving in gift which was delightful and totally unexpected. We felt that it was far from being an impersonal service - George and Nick gave us the feeling that they were really involved and committed to us buying the property & we cannot praise the quality of the customer service we were given highly enough.

    It has been a true delight to be looked after by the Lettings Team at CJ Hole (this being the second time for myself) - but special credit MUST be given to Sam Dean for being simply the most understanding, empathetic and reassuring Agent. At the time of my move, I was suffering with very ill health and the demands of viewings, packing and other paperwork alongside some very painfull treatment was at times a little too much for me. Sam was absolutely brilliant - making me feel at ease as he went above and beyond to ensure the Letting process was completed with as little inconvenience to myself as possible. This even included his personal over-seeing of last-minute touches to my new property (Painters, Carpenters etc.)! I'm not sure that I could've got through it all without Sam's help - so thank you Sam!!

    I found the staff at the Henleaze branch very professional at every stage of the process of buying a property. I was able to view the property at quite short notice and was given all the information as soon as I asked about the house. The member of staff who showed us around was polite, pleasant, punctual and had good knowledge of the house and area so was able to answer all questions. I was kept well informed at all times and the whole process was made as simple as possible. The staff also had a good relationship with the vendor which made communication between all parties stress free.

    The experience I've had when using C J Hole in Bradley Stoke for lettings has been absolutely fantastic. I originally met Karen Rupprecht when she came to value the letting amount for our flat. We have steadly built up a brilliant relationship over the years and we have NEVER had any problems. Karen is always friendly, patient and polite.
    This year we have been mainly dealing with Holly Curthoys who has been unbelievably patient with us, as we are new landlords and half the time don't know what we're doing! Holly always responds to emails very quickly and is really helpful at all times. Holly is also easy to get on with and is always happy to help with any problems we may have.
    We will definitly stay with C J Hole as I don't believe anyone else could do a better job.

    We dealt mainly with Davi to start with when viewing houses and then pnce we had chosen a property we loved, we dealt with Kathy who helped progress our purchase.
    David was very professional and punctual and we had other viewings with other agents such as Ocean who were by contrast very unprofessional, late or both!
    Kathy was a great help in dealing with solicitors if we were busy and really helped push it through.
    all the staff were very helpful and knowledgable. I would use CJ hole again and would recommend them!

    My first call as an enquiry was dealt with in such fashion that it inspired of hope. Followed by Philippa call to view a property. The property was so good and well maintained that if I had to go to another it would be a loss. After the viewing the promptness in drafting and processing the documents by Sharon and Isabella. The whole process was done in less than a week to 10 day and I and my family moved in. The service was excellent. We are happy with the services of CJ Hole and would strongly recommend it to any friends.

    Being our first purchase this was a bit of a learning experience; we dealt with several members of the team who were always polite and knowledgeable. Although our (somewhat optimistic) completion date slipped by a week or two this was not down to CJ Hole who, on our behalf, chased solicitors and other agencies to keep things moving along.

    Repeat viewings with family members were gladly arranged and we never felt rushed.

    We wouldn't hesitate to use CJ Hole in the future.

    Our experience with CJ Hole has been a stress free one! The customer service provided by both Philippa and Isabella has been of a very high standard and made this possible. Both staff members have acted highly professional from the offset and have been approachable with any concerns that we have had. The process wasn't as smooth as we would have liked due to other parties outside of CJ Hole but the staff have been accommodating and sensitive to our dilemmas and personal circumstances! I would highly recommend CJ Hole!

    Paid a £380 holding fee after finding a wonderful property and was given a move in date. Booked time off work, arranged delivery van and started to box all our possessions only to be told a week later that the owner had decided to let the property privately. The time, energy and money wasted on this "transaction" is quite absurd. It's not a personal criticism and Alex was understanding of my annoyance but I do feel though that as a letting agent, there surely should be a contractual arrangement between the owner and agency to ensure this does not happen. I will absolutely not use C J Hole again as a result.

Dear Richard We are sorry to hear of your disappointment over the loss of your intended rental property. We completely understand your concern and frustration but unfortunately it is not possible for us to make a contractual arrangement with a landlord at this stage of a rental transaction. You will, of course, receive a full refund of both your referencing and administration fee. As a gesture of good will, we will not charge you either a referencing or administration fee in the event you find another rental property through C J Hole Cheltenham.

She was able to give us strong recommendations on suitable houses which matched our requirements. The house she mentioned for us was perfect, and was a pleasure dealing with her thereafter to sign the papers etc.

    Holly helped us secure a property to rent. We viewed the property with Holly and within an hour we had been to the office, signed the relevant documents and had been given a detailed explanation of what was going to happen next. Holly was always available to answer questions we had and answered them in a simple easy to understand way. The whole process was very quick and went very smoothly. We were always kept up to date with progress which made the whole experience a lot less stressful.
