    When I let my property I was assured that references would be taken lol. Oviously their idea of a reference is different from mine, unpaid rent, damage to walls and structure, accounts opened in my name, furniture stolen, property so filthy I had to get professional cleaners and this all happened despite the 3 monthly checks that they carried out? Yeah right. All they did do as per the contract was take their commission every month! If you Google the owner you will find out some other intresting facts concerning property development.

    It seems that those of you having serious problems with BPS whether tenants or landlords, need to also get Slough Trading standards involved. You also need to put everything in writing. Trading standards can help put this company out-of-business if they have not improved.

    So it seems the rude threatening phone calls are back, suggesting the old owner/manager is back (he used to only work Tuesday to Thursday).

    As a former tenant, the County Court ruled in my judgement and I got my deposit and court costs back. I should have asked for compensation, but Justice was done.

    If they are still not putting anything in writing, then keep a copy of your letters and take them to the small claims court. For Tenants, Shelter in Slough are a useful 1st reference.

    They never return a call. They owe us rents for 12 months. The staff answers the calls but always taking messages, never fixed or returned a call. I am helpless, can we all get together, I am hoping to go down next week. Please contact me as I will be going there with a solicitor. Mark

    Terrible. They owe us rents. We have obtained a court judgement which has so far been ignored.

    They took a deposit from me for an apartment and later changed the terms of the apartment. They have not refunded the deposit. I lodged a complaint with the county court and that did not help as well. Keep far away!

    I am quite suprised at all the bad reviews!! I have used BPS Slough for almost a year now and have never had any problems! My rent is always paid on time, they are quick and efficient when it comes to any maintenance issues and are extremely polite and helpful on the phone.

    I have suffered the same problems as most mention ie no payments, no communication, does anyone think it would be worth while to join together in perhaps a legal suit as a joint action to get our monies back ? Are BPS members of any regulating bodies that we could all report them to ?

    The worst ever experience. They take money from the tenants and don't pay the landlords - I am still waiting for money paid to them months and months ago.
    This company is simply too unorganised: they cannot communicate anything to you as they are not organised and don't have a clue themselves. The manager is very rude and never available.
    There is no follow-up with the tenants whatsoever. I had to chase BPS and ask them why the tenant was late with payments: they hadn't even noticed !!!???
    Don't trust them, they take money, and simply keep it.

    The branch manager who now owes me money never returns calls and do things without permission.

    I am currently making a claim against them for the money owed.

    I may even go and sit in and wait for him.

    We have had and are having a terrible experience with BPS. We have to ask every month for the rents to be paid over. They have not given us a full accounting depsite many requests

    This agency is worse than a nightmare:
    - ZERO respect for customers
    - ZERO communication skills
    - ZERO customer focus
    - they will ruin your free time, they cannot sort anything out, even if you have a very urgent repair.
    This was the worst choice in my life since I arrived to UK.

    They are very poor at communication and regularty months late at paying rent, even though they had received it. I would say that at best they are incompetent.

    I recently rented a property through Berkshire Property Services in Slough and I found them polite, efficient and willing to work be on the call of duty. I would recommend this agent to anyone who is looking to rent or sell a property as the customer services was as good as I've ever received.

    I was a tenant in Summer 2007, initially they were very polite and good at carrying out basic repairs prior to moving in to property in Colnbrook. However once they had my deposit and 1st month rent, they didn't care anymore absolutely appalling service. Condition of property was so bad I had to move out prior to 6 month contract end, but they refused to give me back my deposit and wanted remaining rent to end of contract. In April 2008 I took them to court and in September 2008 won the case. There is a new lettings manager there who seems polite and more effecient, so this may improve things.
    However, still make sure you get EVERYTHING in writting (They hate putting anything in writing). Housing Charity "Shelter" is Slough are aware of the (previous) issues with this Letting Agent.

    Their service is terrible, they don't communicate with you untill it is too late. I asked them for copies of references and copy of the certificate of the deposit and where it is kept, and also a copy of the inventory which they charged me for. They refused to give me copies, and also I found out later they did not do the inventory.

    The tenant was only in the property a short time, some damage was done to the property and the tenant fell behind on her rent. Berkshire Property Services did nothing, I had to go somewhere else for help.

    They don't pay landlors their rents even when they have received it.

    When you call them typical answer is "Manager who writes cheques is not there".

    Never use them.

    When we first visited the property, we were assured that the property will be ready for us by the time we were to sign the lease. But on the day of the signing, we found quite a few areas still under renovation.

    When asked about the areas, the agent was very impatient, and just wanted us to sign the lease. I had to make the reluctant walk around the property, noting down the areas that need fixing. And even there were nails and screws sticking out of the stairway, the agent had commented that unless they were endangering, the landlord had not obligations to repair them.

    The agent has insisted the place was 'fit to move into', even when the kitchen was in various state of repair, the carpet was not laid and toilet door missing a lock (and with left a gaping hole where the lock used to be)

    But because we had already paid the deposit, and needed to find a place urgently, we had to put up with all of it. It took all we could to postpone the signing of the lease until the property was in a state even suitable for moving into.

    It was a totally bad experience for us.

    Don't like to hear a complaint (maybe if they heard what was being said, they would work differently).
    No communication until you chase them (I guess it's the laid back attitude).
