We have had an appalling experience with Balgores Estate Agents. We are purchasing a property through Balgores and are using the keyworker scheme as one of us is a teacher. Now, this scheme does slow things down a bit and we were very honest about this fact but from the minute we put an offer in, the Balgores Agent has become a vulture. The agent was constantly phoning us to see what's going on DESPITE us explaining it all (absolutely honestly) to him multiple times. He failed to do anything we asked of him without asking more than once, CAUSING further delay by his ignorance.

The worst experience came when we had a survey done - numerous issues arose with the property, for which we were required to obtain quotes (for both the keyworker loan and for peace of mind). The agent made this a nightmare - firstly he tried to stop us from getting quotes, saying "this stuff comes up in surveys all the time", then he seemingly lied to his own client about what we were doing which lead to an embarrassing conversation with the builder we were sending over. He also got a timber report "on our behalf" despite us refusing this THREE times (er, conflict of interest anyone?), as we were instructed by the key worker organisation to "remain in control of our quotes at all times".

All in all it has been a horrible experience - the agent we deal with has made it so stressful for us that we are filled with dread every time the phone rings. He doesn't listen and clearly all he is interested in is his commission. Having spoken to the vendor it is clear that they are not at all happy with Balgores from a sale perspective either.

All I can say is that I hope I never have to deal with Balgores again.

We purchased a new property from a developer who agreed to part exchange our house. They used Balgores as one of the agents to sell on their behalf. However, right from the start they were a problem. They would call 4, 5, 6 times a day but only rarely would they leave a message. They would arrange bookings and times with viewers BEFORE agreeing that these were acceptable to us. They would send round people who were clearly not interested in the property. They seemed to think that 7pm on a Sunday evening was a perfectly acceptable viewing time. When we told them when we would allow people to view, they were not happy and still continued to press us for other times.

In the end the property was sold via a different agent of which I was very pleased as I would hate to think that Balgores would have made any money from us.

In my opinion, I would not recommend Balgores (or Blagores as they have become known in my house) to anyone, even if the sale of their home depended on it.
