Where do I start????? After sending out so many emails to agents and countless viewings I received a phonecall from Asdales in Bromley asking me if I wanted to view a property matching what I was looking for and that he recomend I view it straight away as it had alot of interest. As it was my day off I agreed to meet up an hour later (this was Thursday) To my surprise the property was just what I was looking for and I placed and offer £50 below the asking price. I was told this would not be acceptable as an offer of full price had been accepted that morning but they had not passed the credit check. I agreed to full price and paid some money which was meant to stop anyone else viewing and secure it for me.

I went home happy. I checked my voicemail when I got home and had a message from that morning from an agent called kinly folkhard asking me to view the property I had just taken so I called them as I wanted to make sure they knew it was gone! When I called up and said I was calling about the flat they told me they were sorry but they had let it about half an hour after they left me that message. I asked them for more details and was informed that kinly had taken a deposit on it that morning and yes an offer of £50 below had been accepted but the landlord was happy so it was going ahead???

Apparently this all happend an hour before I received the phonecall from Asdales. I was really confused and spoke to my partner who used to be an estate agent, she told me it sounded like Asdales had taken my money knowing it had been let and hoping the landlord would like his offer better, so I called him up and played dumb, and oh shock horror I was told the landlord had unfortunately made the decision to accept a better offer of £50 OVER the asking price and I would get my deposit back!! A blatant LIE!!!

I would just like to say that moving home and trying to find a property is stressfull enough without getting cought in the middle of desperate power games between estate agents!!! So sorry Asdales you get a huge thumbs down from me!!!!!

The agent I eventually found a property with was Homezone, and although they were a little hard to get hold of sometimes they were efficient and straigh forward and I was happy with the end result.
