I cant believe I ever made the mistake of going with Andrews! We have been in our accommodation for just over three years and now the lease is up for renewal, so definatly will not be renewing this time. The only reason we have lasted this long is we couldnt afford to move. I think its disgraceful that they charge nearly £90 everytime you renew your lease.

I am dreading the 'inspection' when we leave as I know that they are going to pick holes at marks and other bits that they already know about.

I have always found the staff at the Swindon branch rude and unhelpful. They also seem to always have staff coming and going-I cant keep up with who I am supposed to speak to! If anyone is thinking of renting through them I would strongly urge to to rethink.

Where should I start ?
1 - They mislead you with a wrong advert
2 - They lie to you and make you visit a similar but different property
3 - After you visited the property, they increase the monthly rent but try to negociate by offering you a free month to move in.
4 - When you ask them about the price increase they say they can not do anything because it is thre landlord decision
5 - When you want to cancel the process and get your holding cheque back, you have to wait because obviously... They already banked it !!!
Follow my advice, if you are about to pop in Andrews, RUN AWAY !

I used the Battersea branch to rent a flat - never again.

Their staff are lacking in motivation and appear not to care at all beyond the initial sale. After getting me into the flat, they have passed the buck over to a property manager to whom I have written many, many times without a response.

On finally contacting the property manager (who was out both times I tried to contact her previously), I have not yet received any help regarding the faulty shower and poor water pressure in my overpriced flat. Also, terms and conditions which were agreed verbally at the beginning of my tenancy are now proving much harder to follow up on. I was told that double-glazing was to be installed to block sound from a noisy external road - that turned out to be a lie too.

Do not use these people - they are one of the worst estate agents I have dealt with in London.

Absolutely awful. The manager (Carey) was very patronising & did not seem in the slightest bit interested in whether the sale was progressing even when my own buyer pulled out after many warnings as the process was taking too long. When I got a new buyer & put a revised (only slightly lower) offer in, I was told the seller wasn't making any money on the property at the price i was offering - like the downturn in the market is my fault?! Anyway I was fed up and didn't want to lose my second sale so I pulled out altogether, as it turned out they did me a favour as the housing market has since bombed! I would never ever go near them again and would think twice about buying from them even if the house of my dreams was for sale through them

Took a managed let with Andrews in Keynsham, but they pretty much entirely failed to manage anything. Took them about 3 months to even begin acknowledging a substantial leak in the roof. Eventually the flat owner sacked them and had to use threat of legal action to get rid of them!

They seemed really professional when we were moving in but it was a completely different story when we moved out. They tried to charge us for the check out inventory even though they completely ignored it when they were deciding on deductions - they tried to deduct for things that were listed as the same as when we moved in. They also tried to charge us almost £200 to clean the oven (which only hadn't been cleaned because they told us the wrong time for the appointment with the check out clerk) - you could buy a new oven for that! On top of this they continually rang me in the morning even though I repeatedly told them not to.

What can I say. They make it up as they go along, never return your calls or emails, and change their story every time you do manage to get hold of someone. Have been renting homes through private agents for the last 8 years and Andrews have been by far the worst company I have ever had to deal with. Never again!

Moved home a week ago and I must say that having bought and sold many homes before, I was impressed, VERY Impressed! Kept in touch, gave honest and solid advice and did what I asked. Sold the house without fuss! When I can face moving again I will, without doubt use Andrews Longwell Green again.

Unfortunately I used Andrews Estate Agents to sell my house. I would never recommend these people, not even to my worst enemy. They should get a grip and deliver a basic level of competence! Dont use Andrews Estate Agent! Steer CLEAR!

We employed Andrews Estate agents to sell our home. BIG mistake! We've had to do all the chasing because they've refused to update us. They've done nothing but sit on their A@!@ and done the very little.

They are very hostile - especially the Manager Jayne Wood - I read another review today where she actually swore at a customer. Not professional!

Avoid like the plaque! Next stop - Ombudsman!

Avoid Avoid Avoid. Andrews Estate Agents are a scamming company towards tenants.

They do a very very basic inventory with you when you check in and mark everything as in "new" condition, even if it really isn't. You have to point things out to them. With us the whole thing took maybe 15 minutes.

Then on check out they hire an independent inventory person who goes over everything with a fine tooth-comb for about two hours. They expect you to steam clean the oven, clean every bit of dust of every ledge no matter how high, descale the kettle thoroughly etc. etc. even though none of this was done when you check in.

So deductions are made from your bond even though some of the things were in the state they were when you checked in!

So be VERY careful when checking in to go over absolutely everything with this knowledge in mind.

They also don't reply to emails and try to avoid responsibility for communal issues when there is another management company involved (as in they just give you their number and expect you to ring the other company, who in turn tell you that they won't deal with you because you are not the landlord).

Andrews Estate Agents are TERRIBLE, AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Interesting. I had the exact same experience with the Oxford and Abingdon branches. The inventory we were presented when I moved in was laughable. So, I made the agent go around the house and add every single nick and scratch to the inventory.

On check out, an "independent" (i.e. someone who relies on half their income from Andrews) inventory checker came around, and there were quibbles about the difference between the meaning of a scuff and a chip. (This is a 30 year old house that had been rented for years and hadn't been redecorated!)

Luckily, I had photos of all the scuffs (or were they chips?) and the state the house from when we moved in, otherwise I suspect we would have lost a good chunk of our deposit instead of having it returned in full.

In short, they were okay to deal with for most things, but make sure you view the inventory through the eyes of a maiden aunt who keeps the plastic on her furniture, and make sure you are there with the assessor at checkout. Be polite but firm, and have records of everything.
