Fresh arrived in Milton Keynes four years ago and not very good in English, yet. I had to find a property as soon as possible. Rented a flat managed by Alan Francis. Four years of NOT problem at all!. They are very professional and react as quick as possible when you ring/email them for any issue and, if you leave the property in good condition, you will have your deposit back in three, literally, working days. Most of the time, If you have had any problem, simply remember that they work on behalf of a landlord.

We arrived home to a burning smell and found flames filling the central heating boiler. We rang Alan Francis who immediately sent the gas engineer and one of their own agents. Later that evening Daniel brought a portable heater although the office had shut and within days the problem was resolved.
Over 7 and a half years we have dealt with them we have always found them to respond quickly and efficiently to any issues.

We sold two houses using Alan Francis and we were very satisfied with their service. They are open 7 days a week and always return calls if they are not available straight away.
We felt that Craig had excellent communication skills and he was able to resolve any issues that arose by liaising well with our buyer (our buyer was also happy with Alan Francis). Craig also spent time looking into an issue we had with insurance.

They pocketed our 1/3 of our deposit to pay for painting after we've rented the property for 5 years! And it even didn't come new to us! Then they 'completely forgotten' to put the cheque for reminder of our deposit into their first letter! Negotiation didn't work as after our first letter they finally sent us a cheque (in 20 days since checking out!) having increased amount they chipped from our deposit!!

Alan Francis is the worst of the agents in Milton Keynes. They offer absolutely no service in their rented accommodation. When you leave their property they try to create all sort of problems. They behaviour has been very rude.
They will also try to keep all the deposit you handover to them.
I would never ever use them for any kind ofservice. Please beware.Regards

My Daughter was promised first refusal on a property, she had paid her admin fee and filled out all of the required forms. Alan Francis then proceeded to let the house to another tenant who offered a higher than advertised rent. The staff are totally unprofessional, unhelpful. The landlord is obviously unscrupulous too.
I would advise any Tenant / Vendor to avoid Alan Francis at all costs.Was this review helpful? Yes

I have recently taken my property back from Alan Francis Estate agents after 4 happy years of service from them, due to selling. I approached Alan Francis and a number of other estate agents and they came out top, from there friendly approach to there wide knowledge of the lettings market. After 2 weeks on the market we had a Tenant. 1 week later the Tenant had moved in and we were seeing a great income our our beatiful home.
After a year and a half, the tenant served notice and Alan Francis assured me they would find another tenant before the end of the tenancy agreement.
They came through again with another excellent tenant.
I would personally reccomend Alan Francis to any Landlord thinking of putting there property on the market or a potential tenant thinking about getting there own letting property.
Staff are always friendly and they aim to please.Once again, Thank you Alan Francis!!!

I rented a property from Alan Francis late last year. The staff are officious and unhelpful bordering on aggressive. There is no continuity of service and a different person speaks to you on each occasion, even relating to the same matter. I extended my tenancy on a periodic basis (for which I paid a fee) and because they only set up my standing order for 6 months initially ( I simply signed the paperwork and didn't even realise it had only been set up for 6 payments), when I noticed the rent had not gone through for the seventh month, I contacted them and my bank to sort it out... Alan Francis took payments as deposit for a property as confirmation from our end. As soon as they got another tenants who were paying more than us, they returned our deposit when it was just 2 weeks to move and forced us to look for another property with them and charge for the reference checks.

Alan Francis are the worst letting agents I have ever used! I had to wait 6 weeks to have my oven mended, five weeks to have leaky radiators mended (and I'm a mum of 2 small children!) To top off the bad service they send you letters regarding inspections, gas safety checks etc, inviting you to inform them if the timings are inconvenient, and even when you let them know their timings are bad, they turn up any way - much to the annoyance of my night working husband! Too many people working for them gives an incredibly impersonal, couldn't care less attitude. What makes it all the more annoying is that we are exlempary tenents, have redecorated throughout in the original colouys to 'freshen up' the place etc and have never troubled them - my advice - only rent through Alan Francis if a) you have absolutely no choice, or b) are prepared to fix everything yourself and wish to have your home intruded upon at their slightest whim!

They made false promises then denied all knowledge. Management combatted our complaints in a highly aggressive and arrogant manner. We made a bad mistake in using Alan Francis, but won't make the same mistake again.

 and because they only set up my standing order for 6 months initially ( I simply signed the paperwork and didn't even realise it had only been set up for 6 payments), when I noticed the rent had not gone through for the seventh month, I contacted them and my bank to sort it out immediately. They gave me the wrong details to make a bank transfer and their bank returned the money. I had to take hours out of my working day phoning between them and the bank to sort out the problem, which had they had basic administrative procedures in place (i.e. by sending a reminder about the Standing order when the tenancy was extended) could have been avoided. I received a threatening phone call to say they were putting it in the hands of their solictors. I explained the situation and that I had checked my bank statement and the money had left my account only to be returned a few days later. I was met the the response: 'come and prove it to me'. I sent a copy of this statement to their staff and never receieved acknowledgement that I had indeed tried to pay them the money. I again had to chase this up. I understand some tenants to do not pay their rent and they have to have procedures in place to deal with this, however some comon sense and professionalism is required in dealing with someone who obviously does not fall into this category. I was offended at the way they spoke to me and as a consequence gave immediate notice to quit the tenancy. I was unable to contact the landlord directly as I was never given his contact details. To add insult to injury, they also arranged several viewings of the property on the day I was due to move!
