I've used this agency for well over 5 years now and they have been fantastic. Very good communicators, no problems getting my rent money in on time for my mortgage, never really had the place empty - old tenant out, new one right in. Actually a delight to do business with from a landlord prospective.

I have been a tenant with this company for the last 8 months, I have just had a problem with the central heating and have been very grateful for the prompt attention given to this. Samantha particularly was polite and helpful and while I would not normally bother with these type of sites praise where praise is due. I am a Landlord also but my property is in a different area - What a shame because I would much prefer to have her dealing with it than some distant property management center as I have now.

I moved in recently to a flat through 1st ave. They were great from start to finish, keeping me in the loop throughout. When I viewed the flat it looked like a bomb had hit it!! 1st ave confirmed that it would be professionally cleaned for me ready for the move in, I had my concerns but I trusted them. So "yes" they did what they promised and I was certainly relieved, my flat was spottless and gleaming!! I cannot praise them highly enough, I can see a couple of negatives on here but I can say 100% this mob really took care of me. Recommend!!!

I had been left high and dry by another agent when the property I was moving into was taken away from me two days before I was meant to moving in. I had phone a load of agents in a panic and luckily 1st avenue had something for me and they worked really hard to get me in on time! Brilliant work and whilst it was a very stressful time in my life they really looked after me. Many thanks!!

Notice how all the landlords/ladys think this is a good company, and all the tenants rate them as an awful one - theres a reason for that! They tout themselves as a 'property management' company, except all they do is manage to frustrate you and leave you with bad customer service. As an example, our boiler wasn't working, so we called them, and had to wait over a week for them to call in their 'approved plumber' (basically the cheapest one they could find!), so we had about 10 days with no hot water, leaving us to shower at work or the gym! I organised the viewing when I was still working in France, I was short of time, but they were ready and whisked me off to see the property. It was exactly how they described and moved in three weeks later. A nice touch was that they did not just give me the keys, they took me to the apartment and showed me how everything worked. Good service, nice apartment.

I have used 1st Avenue for over 2 years as a landlady for letting and maintenance. I have been very happy with their service. During that time they have found me two excellent tenants and with a very short void period. I have found all staff in the office to be polite, efficient and extremely helpful, and the maintenance staff excellent. I have been so pleased with 1st Avenues service that I moved a second property to them from another agent.

As someone who is vastly experienced with property in this area I highly recommend this agency. I have clashed with the director in the past but on closer examination I realised that I myself was at fault as I did not wish to accept the truth of the situation. Because that's exactly what the director of First Avenue gives you-honest and down to earth advice. This can sometimes hurt especially when other agents (who are highly deceptive) are being highly manipulative and trying to seduce you into getting your business.
However the director of First Avenue is perhaps the most honest property professional I have dealt with and that counts for a lot in this business!Was this review helpful? Yes

I stumbled across this site when looking to find an agent to represent my properties outside of London. So I thought I would see what was said about my current London agent and quite frankly I am astonished. I have used 1stavenue to represent my properties for a number of years and have never had anything but excellent service right from the Director to the admin team, all of whom are polite, informative and very knowledgeable. I have property outside of the area of coverage for 1stavenue and I wish they were all this good.

The worst agency i came across in my life...the staff are so rude and they lie...they only want money from you. we rented a propert and wanted to end the contract earlier by giving them a month notice as stated in the agreement, they refused and they were so rude and their calls full of lies...

Don't know how to rate negative, so rated one star. Have never been botherd with rating / reviews, however 1st Avenue managed to aggrevate me enough to find this site and write one.
Rude staff 100% backed by a rude director when attempted to escalate the issue! Director is rude, patronising, disrespectful and has no fear of losing business. Attitude is if they lose us, they will just find another! Acting as if we are begging them for a place to live and they are doing us a favor to spare a flat for us, while in reality I am the customer that pays them. Agency does not realise the fact that they are an 'agent' between landlord and tenants / buyer and sellers.
Director does not value and respect customers, does not act in landlord's best interest. Losing a tenant? Fine! Not their property anyways! Also, was shown a different property to what was advertised and agreed.
Will not recommend. Avoid at all costs.

As a reluctant landlord I was not looking forward to renting my flat as I had never done it before. 1st avenue came to see me and assured me that they would look after me and that a tenant was not far away. I was very suprised when they found me my new tenant in less than 24 hours and hadnt even taken any photos! Very well done to Paul and Michael.

If there was an award for the worst estate agent in the UK, 1st avenue (North Greenwich) would win hands down. They tried to interfere in the sale of my property (I was using another agent) by telling untrue information about my property to my buyers (who were using 1st avenue to let a flat). Shame on you, but you do win the above prize!

Next thing, the toilet broke, we call them again and they then decided to change their policy so we had to submit a 'form' to get a repairman out. Fine, if a bit of red tape is needed then so be it, but then you call them up and ask them whats happening, they ask you what the problem is, so they don't even read the forms. The toilet took TWO WEEKS to get fixed (all i can say is thank god we had friends living nearby!) - when i asked why its taking so long, they didn't class a broken toilet as an emergency (!!!) and suggested we use public toilets in the park, or at the train station. I don't think i need to explain how disgusted i was at this suggestion! Furthermore, when the toilet did eventually get fixed, they tried to make us pay for it, saying we 'forced the top of the cistern off' - I'm not a plumber, I'm not going to attempt to fix a toilet, so you can shove that idea where it doesnt shine! The radiators also broke, needing another repairman, and another two week wait!
So if no hot water, no heating, and no toilet isn't classed as an emergency, what is? I dread to think, but know full well whatever it is they'll probably say is an 'act of god' and therefore refuse to do anything about it.
Ive dealt with everyone in that office and they are all as thick as **** and so rude it makes my blood boil.
They also refuse to give out the names and contact details of the landlords/ladys to tenants.
